Since breaking the British junior record in 2001, Goldie has gone on to become one of Britain’s leading field event athletes. She was the youngest female athlete to compete in an individual event at the Athens Olympics and was rewarded for her dedication with the British team captaincy in 2007.
Last year has seen her break the British record with a throw of 65.75m in the final of the Beijing Olympic Games where she narrowly missed out on a medal by just 38cm. She has been the British number one for the past six years and has been consistently ranked in the world’s top ten. 2008 saw her finish the year ranked 4th in the world. She is a double Olympian and has been a World and European Championship finalist.
Goldie played county hockey, netball and tennis and was a national under 11 table tennis champion. She gained a First Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University. She is also a very experienced motivational speaker presenting to businesses and school-children alike.
