World Champs
It wasn't the performance i was hoping for in Berlin but after battling back from a significant injury, i can be proud to have been there and done my best to qualify. Unfortunately i slipped on my first throw which always puts you under pressure for the final two throws. The second attempt did not go well. The third was pretty good but just didn't seem to have the air time. I thought i had half a chance of qualifying as the first pool of throwers were definitely stronger than the second but when Sava Lika pulled out a 59m throw in round three, i knew i was out. 13th place is always frustrating, injured or not!
Since Berlin i managed to get a competition in in Tallinn in Estonia. I did well to finish 2nd behind Abakumova with 59.26m. It is always hard to compete after a major championships as there isn't the same motivation or adrenalin. My body was feeling a bit fragile from a long season too.
My last competition will be at Gateshead on monday. I have not competed enough to qualify for the World Athletics Final as i am one competition short but i will be relieved to finish what has been a really hard year!
